Third-country nationals who have sufficient resources, at the level of a fixed annual income to cover living expenses, may apply for a residence permit for financially independent persons if they have obtained a special entry visa (visa d). The residence permit is granted for two (2) years with the possibility of renewal. The amount of sufficient funds amounts to a minimum of two thousand (2,000) euros per month. The above citizens of a third country can also be accompanied by their family members, who are granted, upon their application, an individual residence permit that expires at the same time as the dependent’s residence permit. The condition of sufficient means of living must be met either in the person of each member of the family or cumulatively for all its members. In the event that the third-country national is accompanied by members of his family, this amount is increased by 20% for the wife and by 15% for each child. The amount of resources is proven by a foreign pension, a bank account or evidence that they have sufficient financial means of their own, of legal origin, to cover their living expenses.
